Easy Japanese-y Tofu Marinade









I like to keep tofu around as a quick, convenient and versatile protein source. My favorite thing about tofu is that it can take on any flavor and various textures, depending on how you prepare it.

I usually marinate my tofu & keep it in the fridge for future use. Try this easy, Japanese-y marinade:

1 block firm or extra firm tofu
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (I used Annie’s Naturals brand, which is vegan)

1 Cut tofu into desired size and shape and put into a large bowl.
2 In a small bowl combine hoisin, soy and Worcestershire sauces.
3 Drizzle sauce mixture over the tofu and mix to coat all pieces thoroughly. Refrigerate until you’re ready to use, but at least a few hours to overnight to let the flavors really absorb.

I like to add marinated tofu uncooked to salads or sautéed or baked to rice and vegetable dishes. Get creative!
