Baked Broccoli

This is a really simple, delicious way to prepare broccoli. My brother made it this Christmas, while I acted a sous chef and photographer. Ingredient amounts can vary depending on how many you’re serving.


1 – 2 heads broccoli (depending on how many you are serving)
olive oil
1 lemon for zesting & juicing
sea salt
black pepper


1 Preheat oven to 350˚.
2 Clean broccoli and remove the bulk of the stem. Cut into pieces 3-4 inches long by a few flowerettes wide – about an inch or 2.
3 Lay the broccoli pieces on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with some sea salt & freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with a bit of olive oil.
4 Zest the lemon using a microplane or a lemon zester directly over the broccoli. Set the lemon aside for later use.
5 Place in oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until broccoli is tender.
6 Remove from the oven and place in a serving dish or plate. Halve the lemon and juice it. Drizzle juice from half the lemon over the broccoli and serve.
