Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero was my first real introduction to vegan baking. Can’t say I’ve baked through the whole book, but I’ve made lots of these amazing recipes, and many of them more than once. They come out great every time! Dairy lovers and avoiders alike have given them rave reviews.

These ladies rock my socks! Not only have they devised some incredible vegan recipes, but they’ve also written a really fun book! Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World is filled with great little tips and anecdotes, an A to Z list that explains “Why cupcakes?” and clever little descriptions. The beginning of the book has really practically written sections about ingredients, tools, troubleshooting and decorating tips. Sure, there’s a collection of great recipes, but I’ve found these aforementioned sections to be useful all-around in my baking. For instance, I had no idea that peaking into the oven could collapse my cupcakes! Now I know to wait for that cupcake fragrance before opening the door to take a look!

I highly recommend trying the Cookies ‘n’ Cream Cupcakes and the Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. So good, I have to bring them to work to avoid devouring multiples!
